Hi, I'm Amelie
I’m a project manager. A parent. An expat living in Paris, France.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to France hadn't been in our long-range plan. As with many expat relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far greater.
The initial months were overwhelming — fresh systems, new routines, changed expectations. Daily tasks seemed more complicated than they needed to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of on-the-job learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built Pearl Quay Stream
Most online guidance came from corporate relocation advice or shallow tourism material. What was lacking was a sincere, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap — practical guidance rooted in real life in France.
